⚠️ CRITICAL: “Costanera” vs “Cerro”
Tracopa has two routes to the south. You MUST ask for the ticket via “La Costanera” (The Coast). If you take the “Cerro de la Muerte” (Mountain) route, the trip takes 2 hours longer and it is extremely cold/curvy.
1 Departure: Tracopa Terminal
Go to Terminal Tracopa in Plaza Víquez. It is safe and organized. You can buy tickets at the counter (cards accepted).
2 Schedules (Direct)
Look for buses marked “San José – Uvita” or “San José – Paso Canoas (via Costanera)”.

💎 Insider Logistics
The Drop-off: Uvita does not have a formal bus station. The bus drops you off on the side of the main highway, usually in front of the BM Supermarket or the gas station. Keep your GPS open so you know when to pull the cord!
3 Dominical Stop
💡 Survival Tip from the Mae
“Listen mae: If you are going to Dominical, it’s the same bus! Dominical is the stop *before* Uvita (about 20 mins before). Just tell the driver ‘Dominical’ when you put your bags in. And watch out for the Envision Festival dates (Feb/March)—tickets sell out weeks in advance!”
