💡 Survival Tip from the Mae

“Listen mae: When you arrive at the Fortuna stop (right by the central park), dozens of ‘taxi’ guys will swarm you. Some are official (Red cars), some are not. Ask your hostel if they have a free pickup. If not, an official taxi to most hotels near the town should not cost more than ₡3,000 (~$5). Don’t let them overcharge you just because you have a big backpack!”
